Every Step highlights the crucial support that The Great North Children’s Hospital provides to children and their families throughout their entire hospital journey – from diagnosis, through their treatment and subsequent recovery, to the ongoing care and emotional support after discharge.
The campaign emphasises how the GNCH is there for children every step of the way, helping patients and families feel supported, no matter where they are on their journey.

- £10 can provide a comfort pack, including toiletries, snacks, puzzles and books, to families staying at patient bedside’s, helping to make their time in hospital more comfortable.
- £25 funds a Chemo Duck toy to help a child understand their cancer treatment through play.
- £50 can help us to fund vital research and help us to find new treatments for a range of conditions.
- £255 can help us to fund art workshops for young people within our hospitals.
- £360 can help us to fund a practical and financial advice service for a family with a child in hospital.
- £1,345 funds a gaming kart to distract and help soothe patients during procedure.
Who you will be helping
Hospitals can often be a scary place, but thanks to our wonderful donors and fundraisers we’re able to fund projects that help to make the hospital more welcoming for children and young people offering a calm and friendly environment.
