Metrocentre

We know that external organisations can make a huge contribution to supporting Newcastle Hospitals, especially the voluntary and community sector. We are particularly interested in working with partners to challenge health inequities across our region.

Where an employee in the trust identifies that the involvement of an external organisation can further support the work of the trust, we may invite the organisation to submit a proposal for consideration.

What happens if an application is made?

As part of the assessment process, a due diligence exercise will be undertaken. This will involve a review of an external organisations financial position and assessment of whether their governance and safeguarding arrangements adhere to Charity Commission guidelines.

Where an external organisation is requesting funds for the delivery of a specific service to Newcastle Hospitals patients, operational arrangements must be agreed in writing between the applicant and the trust before final approval of funding can be made.
