Being Human is a large-scale site-specific wall mural. An installation was created by Yr8 students from XP Gateshead school, and is now in situ outside Pharmacy, NVW, RVI to support awareness of organ donation particularly for children and young people, and their families.

The students met with staff from The Great North Children’s Hospital and NHS Blood and Transplant to find out about the varied care and specialisms that happen within Newcastle Hospitals. They responded to the question, ‘What does it mean to be human?’ by creating an artwork which seeks to encourage more conversation about organ donation and transplantation within families.
