Corporate partnerships

The charity is proud of our extensive track record of partnering with the business community to raise funds that change lives.

As a business, there are so many ways your company and colleagues can support Newcastle Hospitals Charity such as:

  • Charity of the year – nominate us!
  • Corporate donations – direct funding or matched giving
  • Colleague fundraising – team events, Great North Run places, payroll giving
  • In-kind support – products, services, expertise
  • Sponsorship – event sponsorship, co-branding opportunities

Whether you’re supporting The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, The Great North Children’s Hospital or you have a particular area of interest such as heart research for instance, we can help.

Whether you have an extensive corporate and social responsibility programme or you’re just starting to shape one, either way we’ll ensure there are plenty of opportunities for your company to be recognised and to acknowledge for your support.

There are huge benefits to galvanising your workforce to achieve a charitable goal. Fundraising for a great cause generates a sense of pride, a shared objective, promoting teamwork and a feeling of achievement by helping others.

Home Group honour cherished colleague Angela

Staff at Home Group arranged a fundraising event raising almost £4000 for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation in memory of their popular colleague Angela Armstrong.

Described as the life and soul of the team, Angela died after a short illness, so staff wanted to honour her with a football-themed event for friends, family and co-workers.

Lady Elsie Robson said: “It was a great pleasure to visit Home Group and especially to meet Angela’s family. I was very impressed with the enormous fundraising efforts.”

Newcastle Building Society: A decade of support

Since 2019, a trainee specialist cancer research nurse role has been funded thanks to the foundation’s long-term supporters, Newcastle Building Society, who have donated more than £3million over a decade of incredible support for the charity.

The current ‘Sir Bobby’ nurse is 27-year-old Ashleigh Barrow from Newcastle, who joined the team to help deliver vital clinical trials of new cancer drugs.

Ashleigh qualified with a BSc in Nursing Studies at Northumbria University and spent the previous five years as a staff nurse in the Ophthalmology Day Unit at the Royal Victoria Infirmary.

Her role involves welcoming new trial participants to discuss trials of experimental cancer treatments, often ‘first in human’ trials, and helping coordinate trials of drugs at later stages of development.

She also completes complex blood sampling and shipment, administers oral and intravenous experimental treatments, and works closely with the Imaging Research Centre to improve diagnosis and study the effects of new drugs.
