Making a difference

We couldn’t do what we do without the generous support of many fundraisers, companies, grant-making trusts, and community groups.

Thanks to them, we have been able to make a difference for thousands of patients, their families and carers, and of course our colleagues, throughout this year and beyond.

Innovative projects we’ve funded

  • Citizen’s Advice Gateshead – Direct social welfare advice for families

Supporting families at The Great North Hospital

  • Counselling and Acupuncture Service: in partnership with Coping with Cancer NE

  • A Haven at the Freeman Hospital

  • Bailey’s diagnosis hit us like a tonne of bricks... we’re very grateful to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. I couldn’t always be there because of restrictions but whenever I had chat with him on the phone I could see his face was beaming because Gareth had been.

  • The counsellor was very good and I could not have dealt with my cancer journey without her. The service is very worthwhile.
    Patient – Coping with Cancer
  • My dad always believed football was about more than winning or losing. To him, it was about people, turning up for one another, sharing hope, and being part of a team. That same spirit sits at the heart of The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, which my dad described as his last and greatest team. It continues to guide us as a family as we work towards the opening of the Sir Bobby Robson Institute.

  • It has been so fabulous seeing the impact that the sessions have had. The children have been talking about it and we have used some of the artwork to help them in clinic…we have seen a huge impact.

  • I used to ride my bike and go to the library. I miss that. But now you come to me with the stories.
